How does a sub domain work?

I want to set up a new website. If I subhost it on my existing website. would I be able to run it like a sepperate site or will I have to pay for hosting that as well? I am new to all this so any help would be appreciated.

How does a sub domain work?

It depends on your webhosting company. The company I use lets me have up to 2 subdomains in addition to my regular website (www.mydomain.com, anothername.mydomain.com, and thirdname.mydomain.com) and only charges me one hosting fee. All 3 websites count toward my disk storage and data transfer limits.

How does a sub domain work?

A subdomain will affect the website URL, maybe mail addresses, and not much else. A subdomain would be like subdomain.yahoo.com rather than just yahoo.com

You should be able to host it as a seperate site, but all the bandwidth used would apply to your other website%26#039;s hosting plan. Including any other resources you plan to share between the two sites.

Your hosting plan may include subdomains, and encourage this practice.

Other Replys:You should not have to pay for more hosting you can do sub domains or you may consider doing domain aliasing.
